In an interesting bit of news this week gaming headset company Tritton/Mad Catz has revealed the official launch date for their Warhead 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset for the Xbox 360.

The Warhead 7.1 headset offers a completely wireless solution for gaming on the Xbox 360; you won't even have to connect a chat cable to the controller. Along with the impressive 7.1-channel surround sound audio quality, thanks to precision-tuned 50mm speakers featuring Neodymium magnets, the headset will have a crystal clear audio range up to 33 feet.

Gamers sol republic can also look forward to separate game and voice sol republic tracks hd volume controls as well as selectable EQ settings for games, movies and music along with easy to locate on-ear controls. In addition the headset will include dual rechargeable battery packs with an on-screen indicator so you know when it is time to change out the battery.

We had the opportunity to check out the Warhead 7.1 headset during E3 in 2011 and the sleek design and comfort quickly won us over. Those of you looking for a true wireless headset for the Xbox 360 can expect to see the Warhead 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset to be available August 6, 2012. You'll have to pay quite a bit however as the headset is currently listed for $299.99, but sometimes it costs to get great quality.

If you would like to purchase other Mad Catz or Tritton products locally here are the listings for some of the game stores in the Las Cruces and Albuquerque areas.
